I love circular machine knitting and because the Addi Express machines are so expensive, I’m always on the lookout for possible substitutions! In this video, I compare the Prym Maxi with a Generic, no-name machine (which pleasantly surprised me, btw!)

And I have a whole page on this blog dedicated to learning more about circular knitting machines! You can also find links to reviews of other machines here.

I just discovered your reviews on circular sewing machines–I love these reviews! I’m so glad I found them. Now I’m thinking about getting one of these machines–but not until I view all of your reviews. They are thorough, cover so many areas of each machine, use a variety of yarns giving each machine every opportunity to show their features, and to top it all off–you have a really great personality, too.
Thank you, Johanna! What kind words! I love these little gadgets… I find them so fascinating! If you do get one, be sure to watch my Beginner’s Tips video. It’s easy to use but there are some things you just have to learn and practice.
Thank you for the valuable information you provide on circular knitting machines. I am particularly interested in the ADDI machine. I noticed that in many
tutorials, you operate the machine standing up. Is that for video purposes only or does the Addi machine need to be operated in the standing position?
I am a person with severe disabilities and have been told that I cannot crochet anymore. Crochet is my passion and the only activity that took my mind off the chronic pain that I live with. Please tell me that I could use the ADDI knitting machine sitting down. I am looking forward to your response. Kindest regards, Chantal
Yes! Of course you can sit down! Some people even use it in their laps (though I’m not sure how) but the point is everyone can use a circular knitting machine! Very fun little gadgets!
I asked for the new extended version of the king size ADDI FOR Christmas. I wonder if you have tried the new generic knitting machine
that has 48 needles. It sells on amazon for $160 Cnd. Please let me know what you think if you have done a review of this machine. Thank you.

Hi
I love your videos. Just wondering if you still like the generic knitting machine or have any extra comments. I like the size and thinking of purchasing one. I have an addi pro but it is just a bit small for some of my projects.
YES! I love that little thing! It’s still working like a pro!
I just watched your video on the Addi King Size knitting Machine. While you were making a baby hat with two pom poms on top. I can’t find a video where you show how to close the circular tube (rectangle) to make the hat. You mentioned 3 knitting needles and also a crochet method. Where would I find that? Thank you very much. I plan to follow you and hope you are still making knitting/crocheting videos.
Look in the description box below the video. You’ll find the link there.
Hi Margaret,
I’ve been looking everywhere for a generic 48 needle circular knitting machine. After viewing your videos I thought I should try out a
generic knitting machine before I go for an expensive Addi. The only online place I could find a generic machine was on Ebay. I’d have to order it from China. Were you able to purchase your generic machine closer to home or did you have to go online and order one from China?
I ordered all the machines from Amazon and yes, some came from China. I DID buy the Michael’s machine at one of their stores (I don’t recommend it) but it could have been made overseas as well.
