Dear Margaret, I wanted to make a children’s size version of your fairisle beanie. How many rows would you suggest I knit for the main part of the hat – the adult version says 94, how many would you reduce that by? I wanted to try and make a hat to match your snowman scarf.

I don’t know how to answer that. It depends on the type of yarn you’re using and your tension. Use a child’s hat that you’ve previously made and copy that! The fair isle shouldn’t affect the sizing.
